This month’s episode features a special broadcast from our World Cancer Day event in Abuja, Nigeria! With the help of our incredible Nigerian advocacy partners— Denise Ejoh, Founder of Cormode Cancer Foundation; Ify Nwabukwu, Founder of African Women’s Cancer Awareness Association; and Gloria Orji, Founder of Network of People Impacted by Cancer in Nigeria — we gathered alongside patients, survivors, caregivers, advocates, and health care providers for a powerful day of connection and community. The purpose of our event was: To educate the community about SAMBAI and the importance of participating in research as people of the African diaspora. To share stories of hope and resilience. To listen, learn, and connect. To pour into those impacted by cancer and remind them that they are not alone — we are here for them. To celebrate life. We were also honored to launch our new community-centered website — created for the community, by the community: www.SAMBAIStrong.org. Visit the site to learn more about SAMBAI, and discover how easy it is to get involved in this groundbreaking research study.
