REM opens its Deux Montagnes line

On Saturday, I was amongst thousands of Montrealers who opted to take a free and very smooth ride on the REM's now completed Deux Montagnes line, which goes from Brossard to Deux Montagnes. The ride, mostly above ground, was smooth and goes over a few bodies of water. Although I only rode the REM once when it just ran from Central Station to Brossard, I plan to use it more often as the Édouard-Montpetit station, which has interesting stone artwork and is underground, is an only three-minute ride from the McGill station downtown and about five minutes from Central Station. We interviewed riders Abner Ashair and Claude Beaulac.
