Near the end of my time in Thailand I spent a lot more time at my mums farm. It was about a 20 minute ride on the motorbike but I always enjoyed the ride since it was a pretty easy route with a lot of nice scenery. I would park my motorbike at the bottom of the mountain and walk up which was another 15 mins but the dogs were always there to greet me. I spent most of my time playing with the dogs, reading or learning to cook Thai dishes. My mum tried to teach me about farming and how to get rubber from rubber trees's but walking up and down the farm having to tend to every individual tree (hundreds on them) really took it out of me so I didn't last long. Farming in a rubber tree farm, rice farm or any kind of farming is strenuose work and you're constantly walking, lifting or bending over, it can really take a toll on your body so props to all the farmers out there. Morlam By November time a lot of the villages have Morlam concerts which I would describe as a pantomime/musical. The one in this video is actually quite a big production while others I went to were much smaller with less going on. The performers wear very elaborate and heavily bedazzled costumes and dance while someone is singing (usually traditional Lao form of song in Laos and the Isan portion of Thailand). There's also the occasional comedy performances with actors.
