Exquisite faux ceramic beads... that you'll love making |

Do you like the look of faux ceramic? I personally love ceramic pieces and I'm always working on new ideas and technique to get a beautiful faux ceramic look for my clay pieces. In this tutorial, I'm showing you how the same silkscreen used with different colours will result in different effects. And a beautiful clay slab that will allow you to make lots of clay designs! And I have to tell you that I cannot decide which one (the classic or the fall one) I prefer the most. For this tutorial I used: -white polymer clay -geometric stencil -mica powders in fall colors -imitation gold metal leaf -texture plate -2 round cutters (a larger and a smaller one) -gold color metal frame -Ultramarine Blue Pan pastel -UV resin and a UV lamp -clay tools -heat gun -oven and oven thermometer I bake my pieces on parchment paper to avoid ending up with a glass like look on the back. And this is because I like to make a beautiful textured back for my clay pieces by putting the front clay piece (with the stenciled pattern) on top of a piece textured and colored with mica powders as well. I love the distinctive touch brought by the gold metal leaf (imitation) and I thought it would fit well the faux ceramic idea. I finished by applying UV resin for the subtle sheer of the pieces and the ceramic lookalike appearance. Happy claying!
