Do you know how to play your marginal poker hands? I am frequently asked "how do I stop losing with medium strength hands" & "what should my strategy be facing bets with a marginal made hand?" so, I have put together this strategy video to help you play your marginal strength hands perfectly! Marginal made hands are difficult to play, and sadly there is no single hard & fast rule for how you should play medium strength hands. This means that the most important factor to consider, is your OPPONENT'S strategy. For example, vs a maniac that will blast off with any two cards 100% of the time, your marginal made hand is going to be good very often. Conversely, vs a nit that NEVER bluffs, your marginal hand will NEVER be good. It is vitally important that you are aware of your opponent's strategy & that you are adjusting accordingly to it. Marginal Made Hand vs Tight Players/Ranges Tight players (or reasonable players in tight positions) will often fold marginal hands preflop. This means that when you are facing aggression from a tight player (especially one that opens in early position) you should be more inclined to fold, or at the very least proceed with caution! Marginal Made Hand vs Loose Players/Ranges Loose players (or reasonable players in late positions/blinds) will often open hands that should be folded preflop. As their ranges are wider than normal, your marginal made hands go up in value, as there are more combinations of hands that you dominate, or that have very low equity. If you are facing a loose player from a late position, you should be more inclined to call them down with your marginal made hands. Marginal Made Hands in Multi-way Pots When playing multi-way pots, all hands will go down in value, as it is generally much easier for multiple opponents to connect with a board. When facing a bet & a call, you should be WAY more inclined to fold a marginal made hand than you would facing a single bet in a heads-up pot. Position is also incredibly important in a multi-way pot. If you have players to act behind you, you should be far more careful facing a bet, whereas when you are closing the action, you can call a little bit more often.
