In this video, I present the complete design and working principle of a Digital Parking Control System developed as part of my assignment. The system automatically monitors available parking spaces using entry and exit sensors, a keypad-defined maximum capacity, and a counter-based control logic. The presentation covers: System block diagram and flowchart explaining how car entry and exit are detected and counted. Design of a 4-bit up/down counter using JK flip-flops, modeled as a finite state machine (FSM) with linear bidirectional operation. Detailed explanation of state diagram, state table, and Karnaugh map simplification. Design of two 555 timer circuits—one for continuously displaying “FULL” and another for blinking “SPACE AVAILABLE” with the required duty cycle and frequency. Selection of appropriate timing components, including capacitor choice for stable operation. Discussion of system limitations and possible future improvements for large-scale parking systems. This video demonstrates how digital logic, sequential circuits, and timing ICs can be integrated to build a practical and automated parking management solution.
