A long standing Layton Technologies customer who works within the medical device industry had a requirement for a semi-automated system to perform a validated, laboratory developed, process to a consistent repeatable result. The system allows a 400% increase in throughput and impacts positively on the environment by re-using resources which would otherwise go to waste. The process uses pressurised pure water to carry a solid cleaning media over the product to remove contaminants. The pure water and media are passed through a strainer/filter and the product is left cleaned and on the strainer ready to be passed onto the next manufacturing process. The system incorporates a bespoke tilt and turn mechanism which allows the media to be re-flushed with clean water, ready to perform the process again with the next batch.
