He Dwells with Us — A Feast of Tabernacles Oratorio (Inspired by Leviticus 23, John 1, Isaiah 60, Revelation 21) Through symphony, choir, and solo voices, He Dwells with Us moves from the desert tents of Israel to the final vision of Revelation — where the dwelling of God is forever with mankind. Recorded in the spirit of Sukkot (the Feast of Tabernacles), this song celebrates God’s eternal presence, light, and love that never depart. In the wilderness, God commanded His people to dwell in temporary shelters — a reminder that He Himself would one day dwell among us. This orchestral worship piece captures that promise fulfilled in Yeshua the Messiah: “The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.” (John 1:14) -------------------------------------------Lyrics ------------------------------------------------------------- Opera Title: He Dwells With Us — An Oratorio of the Feast of Tabernacles -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------- Prologue – The Veil and the Fire ----------- The veil is thin tonight… In the hush of desert air, Your fire paints the sky; Dust of wanderers, hearts laid bare—You draw the nearness nigh. The night bends under holy light, the earth holds sacred breath; Our fragile tents begin to glow—love stronger still than death. שכינה שוכנת עלינו (Shekhinah shokhenet aleinu) — the Divine Presence rests upon us. ----------- Act I – The Dwelling of the Holy One ----------- Dwell among us, Holy One, Make this fragile shelter shine. What hands have raised from earth and straw, Your Presence makes divine. He dwells with us… He dwells with us… Immanu El… God with us… Who are we that You would walk our shade, Share our bread and mortal air? Maker of the seas and stars, Pitch Your tent and answer prayer. We searched the dark for home and fire— You came and called us Mine. The Word became flesh—He dwelt among us! Glory we beheld: grace and truth sublime. Light in the darkness, darkness could not bind Him— Morning broke the night in time. He dwells with us… He dwells with us… Immanu El… Immanu El… ----------- Act II – The Feast of Ingathering ----------- Festival Chorus – Joyful Procession Rejoice before the Lord your God! With branch and fruit and song! שִׂמְחוּ לִפְנֵי יְהֹוָה Simchu lifnei Adonai! (Rejoice before the Lord!) The Feast of Ingathering comes— Let thankful hearts be strong! The courts awake with golden flame, All nations see Your rise; From Zion’s hill Your radiance streams, A dawn in every eye. On the last and greatest day He cried, “If any thirst, come now to Me! Believe, and rivers shall arise— מַֽיִם חַיִּים Mayim chayim (living waters) flow in thee.” The parched of soul, the bruised of heart, Found mercy’s endless sea. Fountains burst from stony ground, Deserts blossom where You stand; Streams of life in wilderness— Your river fills the land. He dwells with us… He dwells with us… Immanu El… Immanu El Make Your dwelling with us, Lord… Wipe the sorrow from our eyes… Every tear remembered, dried… Be our light that never dies… הִנֵּה מִשְׁכַּן אֱלֹהִים עִם הָאָדָם Hineh mishkan Elohim im ha-adam — Behold, the dwelling of God is with man. He will dwell with them, they shall be His own; Death shall be no more, nor mourning nor crying; Former things are passed away. Behold! He makes all things new! The Lamb our temple, lamp, and sun! No shadowed lands, no night to fear— His light is day begun! King of mercy, throne of grace, Our shelter and our shade— Tabernacled with His people, Faithful love displayed! He dwells with us… He dwells with us… Immanu El — God with us. He dwells with us… He dwells with us… עַד עוֹלָם Ad olam — Forever. Forever You dwell, forever You reign, Light of the world, consuming flame. Heaven and earth in chorus cry: The Holy One is nigh! He dwells with us… He dwells with us… עַד עוֹלָם Ad olam, Amen — Forever and ever, Amen. 🎵 Themes: God dwelling with His people · Immanuel · The Word became flesh · Living water · Eternal light 📖 Scripture References: John 1:14 · Revelation 21:3–5 · Leviticus 23:39–43 · Isaiah 60:1–3 · Zechariah 14:16 © 2025 Aviel Music Group.
