The movie is set in 2267, when Earth has become a planet that is no longer habitable due to environmental destruction. Humanity lives in cramped and overcrowded space stations, hoping to migrate to a habitable planet called Rhea. However, only a few people can go there due to the prohibitive cost. Themain character, a doctor named Laura Portmann, works on an interstellar cargo ship named Kassandra. The ship is on a long journey to deliver supplies to a space station far from civilization. In order to pay for the trip to Rhea, Laura takes this job as a way out. While the ship is in sleep mode (hibernation) due to the long journey, Laura wakes up to run a surveillance shift. She begins to realize that there is something odd in the cargo they are carrying. Together with a security officer named Samuel Decker, Laura discovers the shocking fact that the ship is carrying something top secret: humans kept in suspended animation for illegal experiments. The horror increases when Laura learns that Rhea, the planet promised as a paradise for mankind, is actually just an illusion created by the government to maintain social stability. Humans didn't actually go to the planet-it was all just a computer simulation creating an artificial reality.
