In this outtake from the IAA’s Arthrofibrosis Surgeons Panel Discussion, orthopaedic surgeon Prof. Jason L. Dragoo, MD (UCHealth Steadman Hawkins Clinic, Denver, Colorado, USA) explains why he avoids performing surgery on inflamed knees. Operating during active inflammation may increase complications, worsen scar tissue formation, and reduce the chances of a successful outcome. This principle is especially relevant in the management of arthrofibrosis (stiff knee) after procedures such as total knee replacement or ACL reconstruction. Waiting until inflammation subsides can improve the effectiveness of surgery and patient recovery. This video is part of the IAA Surgery Roundtable Series hosted by Dr Kayley Usher with international panelists: Prof. Jason L. Dragoo, MD – UCHealth Steadman Hawkins Clinic, Denver, USA Prof. Dr. Ralf E. Rosenberger – Privatklinik Hochrum, Innsbruck, Austria Prof. Dr. Kristoffer W.
