How do you set up an effective community-based reintegration project? The sustainability of returnees’ reintegration is strongly linked with the communities they return to. Communities with strong social networks and access to resources can provide support and protection to returnees and themselves benefit from the reintegration process. But when communities are unable to provide support and protection, the return experience can be a risk factor for both the community and the returnees.
