It was just test footage for myself but I figured I would upload it anyway in case anyone was interested. I was looking for a comparison video of these two sets of lenses so maybe this can help someone in the meantime. For now, I did a quick test for myself to test a set of Proteus lenses but then they had Nanomorphs so I tested what was available (silver, blue, amber). Ideally, you would have a "model" with skin tone and the same color flares so it's apples to apples. I just used what was there, which went back and forth with the available silver, amber, and blue. SHOOTING I shot at 4300 and used the same color grade but balanced out the shot exposure... but, I didn't touch the source color at all (when you normally would match the charts). It's the exact grade so you can see the differences. Also, there's a light in the background that is changing color temps on the wall directly behind the chart. And, when looking down the barrel at the overhead light, in post, I lowered the ISO only, but not in camera. TAKE-AWAYS The things I immediately noticed were that Proteus lenses were tack sharp at the edges, even the 35. I stood in front (cut myself out, not putting that out there publicly, haha), then went to the edge... sharp all the way. Also, as you can see, there isn't a 'bend' in the vertical lines at the corners. I was blown away since I'm on a waitlist for set of anamorphics where the 36 looks like fisheye at the edges. Wide open to T2.0, they're a hair soft but at T2.4, it's a lot sharper, T2.8 is perfect. **I absolutely have not received anything from Laowa, I did this at a shop on my own, so I'm being super honest about these. Like I was saying, I'm on a waitlist for another company's lenses which are taking for-absolutely-ever and I didn't know, in that time, that Proteus lenses did a pre-order and were released four months ago... while I'm still waiting for mine, which is why I'm now looking for other options. And, I honestly like these more that what I have on order. I'm leaning toward their 35/65 but I know they have a 28 coming out which is also how barrel-corrected.
