This stretch of road reputes to be one of the highest above sea-level in the Nottingham area. In this series I will be visiting high streets around the country. I aim to have a nosey around the shops, try to visit a few cafes, imbibe in a few pubs, and hopefully, speak to the people that matter and find out what makes their high street tick. This project is all about documenting the sights and sounds that can be found on a typical high street; a record of social history that will allow ‘then and now’ comparisons to be made by future generations. The Beery Boater is a narrowboat fitoutthat follows my progress on sourcing, building, and fitting-out a 57-foot narrowboat liveaboard, with a view to eventually cruising around the UK’s canal and river network. Expect to see lots of DIY tips, ideas, and ‘how to do it’ information on everything concerned with fitting out a modern-day narrowboat.
