Ever wonder what “normal” looks like in Denmark? After living in Copenhagen for three years, I’ve learned that a lot of everyday Danish norms feel completely wild to an American. So in this video, I’m ranking 25 Danish norms from mild… all the way to the last three that would literally get you arrested in the US. If you’re new here, I’m Nick. I’m a guy from a small town in the American South who somehow ended up calling Copenhagen home. I’m new to YouTube, figuring it out one video at a time, and sharing the things that’ve shocked me, changed me, or completely melted my American brain. In this video, we cover everything from: • grocery store etiquette • public transportation silence • cycling in any weather • MIT ID and government systems • work culture and 4 PM exits • taxes and trust • unmanned shops • dating dynamics • fireworks chaos • public drinking laws • babies left outside cafes • public nudity in parks Some of these are wholesome. Some are confusing. Some I still can’t believe are legal. All of them shape everyday life in Denmark. If you enjoy this kind of content, make sure to subscribe. I’m posting one video a week on life abroad and whatever else I’m learning along the way. And if you’re Danish (or just curious), tell me in the comments which norm surprised you the most, or what you’d like to see me explore next. Thanks for being here. See y’all in the next one.
