We custom-make 14 spaces for more than 120 events of every size and flavour. It’s an artistic and operational feat that gives over 650 artists the room (literally) to captivate the 24,000+ art-hungry punters who flock to the Hub to witness the bold, the playful, and the provocative. In a city where affordable creative space is vanishing, the Festival Hub is more than just a venue – it’s a launchpad for bold ideas, and a rare space where artists can push artistic boundaries, not bank balances. It offers low-cost venues that simply don’t exist anywhere else – because we reckon art should be made by people with great ideas, not just people with deep pockets. That’s why we chip in over $250,000 in subsidising venues for artists each year. But the Festival Hub doesn’t run on good vibes alone (trust us, we’ve tried) – in fact, it’s getting more expensive to build. That’s where you come in. This year, we’re asking for help to build the Festival Hub, so artists can keep making magic happen. Help us keep the Festival Hub open for artists who dare to take creative risks. We think the ingenuity of artists like Isabella (who literally made this video on the smell of an oily sequin, filmed at Fringe Common Rooms of course) is what makes Melbourne such an extraordinary place to live, work and see art.
