This documentary looks at the period from 1984 miner's strike to the closure of Parkside Colliery the last pit in Lancashire in 1993. In a series of interviews, ex-miners and their wives talk about the financial and emotional pressure brought to bear on them by the strike. The closure of the mines is still a very emotive subject for many people but others look back and see it as a catalyst for positive change and improvement in their lives. This documentary focuses on how people have adjusted their lives in response to the decline of an important industry.
