Recorded date - 17/7/2022 Preserved Black Prince 73/M73MYG MAN 11.190/Optare Vecta Welcome to another episode in this multi part series where we experience what it was like back in the day when step entrance buses were still in use by featuring a bus from them days whether it be in preservation or still in use with an independent company. Part 12 takes us for a ride on M73MYG. This year North Yorkshire independent Connexions reached their 20th year as a company and to mark the occasion they had a celebration in the form of an event at Wetherby Racecourse with a free service running between the racecourse and York, Wetherby and Harrogate using various preserved buses. With time getting on my plan was to get the Black Prince Optare Primsa done followed by an ex Cardiff bendybus to end the event however I got an unexpected surprise when the Prisma came round the corner with this beast right behind it, MAN 11.190/Optare Vecta 73/M73MYG. Having only ever done one of these rather rare machines in my life, that being many years ago it was a nice bonus for the day, this beast providing a tuneful run as it worked its way out of York City Centre towards the racecourse.
