Elvis in Nashville - the recording studios | Road Trip Vlog Day 14 Pt.1. Sept 24th - An early start in Nashville to get some pics outside Studio B as the tour from the Country Music Hall of Fame Musem doesn't allow time for this. This is where Elvis recorded on June 10th on leave from the army, his only official recording sessions during his 2 years service. He recorded the huge hits I Got Stung, A Fool Such As I, I Need Your Love Tonight, A Big Hunk O' Love and (released 6 years later) Ain't That Loving You Baby. He was back here after his army discharge to record his first singles and Elvis Is Back album. Studio B continued to be his favourite studio up to 1971 recording the majority of his hits here (apart from those from the '69 Memphis sessions). Many other artists recorded huge hits here including the Everly Brothers, Roy Orbison, Dolly Parton and Charlie Pride. From here it's a brief stop at Music Circle and Owen Bradley park then on to a car park! This was the location of RCA Victor's McGavock Street studios where Elvis came on January 10th for his first RCA recording session. The 2nd song recorded was Heartbreak Hotel which should have designated it a building of historic interest on its own! The wrecking ball put paid to that! After the Jan sessions he was back on Apr 14 1956 to record just one song, following a bumpy flight in from Amarillo. Studio B would open the next year and Elvis never recorded here again.
