CASIO CT-S1000V - 12. EXPANDING FUNCTIONS WITH KOALA SAMPLER

The Casio CT-S1000V has a built-in sampler function, so that you can record and playback short sounds on the keyboard as drum or melodic effects. But expanding the functions and sounds of your keyboard is somewhat limited, and using an app on your phone or a tablet can be a cheap and effective way of going much deeper. Koala is a very popular app for Android and iOS and has many features and in this video I'm just scratching the surface. I've recorded 4 chords into a single pad, then chopped each one onto separate pads so that create a sequence. The final result is a little bit like the Phrase Pads found on the CT-X keyboards, but rather than MIDI we're capturing Audio. Once the sequence has been recording you can then play and improvise over the top, with a new sound (TONE) on the keyboard. Of course, you can go much further, but this just a brief introduction to show you the potential - and it's a great way to expand your current keyboard with new functions.
