Today we are back with an RC car project. Today we are revisiting the Radio Shack Street Sprinter 1969 Camaro RC car from when I was a kid. In my first video about RC, I introduced this car and what it means to me, as it has an amazing backstory going back 24 years of my life. Lately the car has fallen in some bad disrepair and I ordered something off eBay to hopefully fix it. I ordered for $45 a Street Sprinter II 1969 Camaro, it basically just a very similar second version of my car. This car is a mystery, it came untested with no controller. We tested the car and found that either the controller for the Street Sprinter isn’t compatible, or the car was fried. So we swap the guts from my existing car into the eBay car, thus giving the heart and soul of my car a fresher chassis and suspension. All the work went smooth and I also parted out what was good still in my original chassis and suspension. I will save these extra parts and the eBay body for just in case. With the rarity of the car, and the parts I have saved, if this car breaks, it will be a lottery if I just so happen to have a spare of what it needs to get fixed. We test the car, mount the battery, and take the car out for a great test run. I let my oldest daughter drive it as well, this is full circle as I was her age when I first drove this car myself. I was nervous on my drive, my daughter was nervous, and my wife wouldn’t even try to drive it. This is all because of how fragile this car is. Im ecstatic and elated that after 2 years, I finally fixed it. I cant wait to enjoy more time playing with it again. I really enjoyed sharing this restoration with you all.
