After months of planning and prepping, the travel day finally arrived — but not without surprises. We flew with EgyptAir from Lagos to Cairo, only for our flight to be delayed by 5 hours. That delay led to us missing our connection to Canada, and we had to spend the night in Cairo at Le Passage Hotel, courtesy of the airline. The next day, we resumed our trip with an 11-hour flight from Cairo to Toronto, then a 5-hour domestic flight to Calgary. It was the longest travel experience of our lives.
