In this practical exercise, you’ll learn how to model a multi-level parking ramp in Revit, starting from 2D planning to full 3D form development. The workflow begins by setting the correct unit system and defining interior and exterior circular boundaries. From there, the ramp geometry is shaped using offsets, trimming, splitting, and clean modeling techniques. The project then evolves into a complete 3D ramp system using Model In-Place tools. We’ll explore: 🔹 Setting units and creating circular ramp boundaries 🔹 Creating landings and step forms using offset and mirror 🔹 Cleaning geometry with trim, split, and extend 🔹 Building ramps using Model In-Place and Swept Blend 🔹 Creating and positioning multiple profiles at different elevations 🔹 Rotating and copying ramps to complete the spiral form 🔹 Modeling landings using Sweep and adjusting profiles 🔹 Creating multiple levels and aligning ramp elements across floors 🔹 Solving alignment gaps using move, copy, join, and paste-align 🔹 Modeling structural columns with extrusion 🔹 Using radial array for column placement 🔹 Managing grouped elements and controlling column height By the end of this exercise, you’ll be able to create a complete spiral parking ramp system with multiple levels, connected landings, and structural columns—while applying efficient modeling and array techniques inside Revit.
