WINE TOUR IN ANDALUCIA, SPAIN | Muscatel wine tasting and visit to Torrox, Cómpeta and Sayalonga

Since we found out that Andalusia is well known for wine production, especially from muscatel grape, we knew we need to visit one of the bodegas. We found a great tour company, which took only two of us and shown a lot of interesting places around. Tour started in Torrox, well known for its seaside, but we had a chance to take a walk around old town and found out more about history of that place. We were truly blown away by the beauty of historic centre and its narrow and nicely decorated streets. Next stop was in Cómpeta, town known for producing the best wine in the area, the essence of our trip. We visited Bodegas Almijara, where we found out more about their wine production techniques, and saw very old school wine press. There was a time for wine tasting also! Among others, we had a rare chance to try wine, which was served on the wedding of King Felipe IV and Queen Letizia. Delicious! We ended the visit buying two bottles of sweet wines as we loved it so much. Last stop was in Sayalonga, where we enjoyed Andalusian lunch prepared from local ingredients. So even tho we were mainly focused on a wine side of the trip, we were very happy to learn more about the history of the region, and discover many hidden gems, which we would never find by ourselves.
