Losing/Gaining weight won't solve it, cause roots are more psychological and inside you than physiological or external. Do You think omitting so called socially constructed imperfections from your body will make you happy? No! because considering "imperfections" as a problem is a mistake cause actual probelm is "Desire of being perfect". So even if you achieve certain type of body you'll come up with new imperfections or insecurity to deal with. Take a moment and listen to your inner dialogue, self talk, observe how abusive it is. Why are you allowing yourself to be that abusive with yourself even as a joke?, why are you comfortable with that abusive inner dialogues, when you don't allow anyone else? No one can affect you with the intensity you can affect yourself. You see more images of people on internet than actual people in real life which eventually creates a perception of beauty and perfection, that exact perceptions become lens to sense even the real world and then you selectively cling on perfect bodies and ignore rest of them which unfortunately facilitates your insecurity. Now let's come to the famous issue "Name calling" or "Log kya kya khete hai" It's not about what they say but how you perceive what has been said. And I'm not saying don't lose/gain weight or do XYZ to your body but your intentions shouldn't be overcoming body image issues but to achieve health and longevity.
