Generac GP7500E - Portable Generator Conversion Natural Gas & Generator Shed

All Parts Purchased from Home Depot, some available only online, and Amazon. Natural Gas Kit was Added and the Exhaust is a 4 Inch Metal Vent Hose with an Endcap attached to the Muffler of the Generac GP7500E with a Worm Gear Clamp. the Metal Vent Hose Passes through the Wall of the Suncast Shed, and it passes through a 6 Inch round aluminum cut with a 4 inch hole for vent hose. Hole in Shed wall is 5 Inches so vent hose is suspended and doesnt touch plastic shed directly. The Vent Hose is Wrapped in Lava Wrap from Amazon and then with 6 inch Pipe Insulation and then with a a 6 inch pipe and then with more 6 inch pipe insulation that mostly fits. Would a Double Walled Stove Pipe work better? The Case is a Suncast, and it is Junk, But is Larger than the Rubbermaid which is double walled, so it fits a larger generator. The suncast provides no sound Barrier at all and is thin and the cover and doors warps. Don't believe anyone who tells you that this enclosure alone helps to reduce sound. I observed a 10% Sound Reduction at Best. I insulated the box with Frostking/ Thermwell Cotton (chemically Treated fire resistant) insulation and then their excellent sound deadener type foam wrap and then with a 1/2 inch Styrofoam type Board, using Glue and Mostly a staple Gun. Other Possible options to use is Home Depot Sound Barrier Pressed Wood planks that are too heavy to be mounted on a plastic shed, or a Home Depot Sound Deadener Vinyl Floor Underlayerment that rolls out. My Neighbors are close by. The sound of the Generac is like a Loud Motorcycle in your Backyard. The case reduces sound to that of a noisy central A/C unit level. The Thermal Issues are significant, Muffler registered almost 600 Degrees. Once you get the exhaust out, the rest can be cooled with the Fantech 2SHE1021 10" Shuttered Fan that runs at 1,550 RPM's. I also copied the youtube Thermal safety switch Cutoff that I purchased on Ebay, and I put in a Remote Thermometer with alarm to keep an Eye on the Temperature, which stayed in the 80's in the box, when ambient temperature was in the 70's. I put in a intelligent trickle Battery Charger. The Generac GP7500E Generator was Converted by me to Natural Gas. I used a kit from http://propanecarbs.com which I believe is similar to the Type 4 Kit sold by http://propane-generators.com I read that the latter company also includes an extension hose for the vent hose that leads from engine to air intake which you may need to be extended. I didn't need it since with the Generac I was able to reach the air intake. The Natural Gas Kit is Easy To Install. The Generator Runs Extremely well on Natural Gas - Very Smooth and at an even level and with a clean exhaust, and you no longer will need to get,or store Gasoline. You bolt the Adapter to the carburetor, all parts included. I also changed the Sparkplug to a Copper Plug to get a hotter spark. As you can see in the video, natural gas is more difficult to ignite, I think that the electric starter is giving it the equivalent of ten rotations to start it, so good luck with a manual start generator. But the generator loves Natural Gas. After Installation, You adjust the Mixture by unscrewing the mixture screw too far so that the engine runs poorly, then tighten the screw back in slowly, under load while using a Multimeter to measure Hertz (which is related to RPM's) to get the Maximum Hertz which is usually 61 or 62 HZ as you lean down the mixture, then tighten lock bolt and its Done. This Method provides you with a Visual Cue along with what you are hearing, to get the generator running perfectly at a perfect mixture. I have a One Inch Gas Line from my meter which is fifty feet away, that gets reduced to a 3/4 Inch quick disconnect & then to the Connection on the Natural Gas Kit. I Recommend using No Less than a 3/4 Inch or One Inch Galvanized Pipe. (Parts on above website). The Generac Needed the Gas adjustment to be unscrewed far out (a richer mixture) in order for it to start and run properly. The Generator Plugs into a Wonderful Reliance 31410 CRK 10 Switch Transfer Switch to Safely transfer the power. This Transfer switch makes it so easy to get the power to your appliances in a blackout. The Generac Generator is very powerful, I had it using about 3,000 watts and it ran well. The Conflicting Challenge is Getting the Heat out, and Keeping the Sound in. It's Like Trying to Cool a Large Webber BBQ in a Plastic Box - same amount of gas- This setup is very simple and very reliable. Nothing is automatic, and it should remain reliable for years to come with a minimum of maintenance. Natural Gas means a cleaner exhaust, cleaner oil, and a cleaner and more reliable engine. I have since removed the Gas Tank. My only questions are: Does this project make sense, is this better than just buying the Low End Generac 7KW Automatic Generator &Transfer Switch from HD for $1,800? Do you think that I Voided the Generac Warranty?
