Episode 927 Betty (Betty Driver) expects Elsie (Pat Phoenix) to be acquitted due to her looks. Cyril (William Moore) catches Sheila (Eileen Mayers) giving Dot (Joan Francis) a dirty look. Val (Anne Reid) begins to get fed up of Ken's (Bill Roache) complaints about his shoulder. Ray (Neville Buswell) writes to the Flemings and tells them he's on the mend. The magistrates start to give their verdict. Emily (Eileen Derbyshire) reads to Albert (Jack Howarth) but is bored by his stories about WW1. The case against Elsie is dismissed due to contradictory evidence. Annie (Doris Speed) wins at pontoon against Jack (Arthur Leslie). Mr. Maddox-Smith (Sydney Tafler) requests to speak with Elsie and Dot. Betty joins the card game and beats Annie. Audrey (Gillian McCann) reveals that Minnie's (Margot Bryant) life was saved by somebody giving her first aid on the spot and stopping the bleeding. Annie starts a collection for Reg Ellis's family. Sheila confronts Hilda (Jean Alexander) over the comments she is making about Elsie. Maddox-Smith advises Elsie and Dot to resign from Miami Modes. Albert wants to move in with the Barlows. Elsie evicts Dot from No.11 and vows never to see or speak to her ever again. Val allows Albert to live with them. Ray sends an optimistic letter about his recovery but Cyril reports that he isn't on the mend at all as he took three steps when trying to get out of bed and collapsed. Elsie returns home to find a suitcase in the back room, a dirty plate on the table and somebody walking about upstairs.
