~Cummins B6.7 (6.7 L) / Allison eGen Flex HybriDrive Division: Bush Street (1) My first drive on this beast of a machine back in December. This marks the first time MTA has had a fleet of coaches powered by a 6.7 liter Cummins B-series engine since the Optima Opus mini-buses from 2006 to 2011. My impression on this is pretty good but I am still a bit skeptical about a smaller engine tuned into a larger 40-foot bus as opposed to sticking with the 8.9 liter L-series engines (now discontinued), nonetheless, I cannot deny that the sound produced from this machine is glorious. The powertrain has auto start-stop and can run exclusively in EV-mode (limited to 32 MPH) by a flick of the switch. It is also tuned to run in EV mode from a standstill until it reaches 10+ MPH before the engine kicks on; this creates a bit of underpower lag upon acceleration.
