"In 2013, the composers Mauro Lanza and Andrea Valle began working on the 4-part cycle Systema Naturae. This monumental work relates to the medieval taxonomy of nature into 4 kingdoms – animals, plants, minerals and fossils – by combining a musical performance with an installation of „living machines“ The sound of acoustic instruments fuses with noises produced by old domestic appliances, thus creating a musical and mechanical meta-organism that animates an imaginary natural world and builds up to a bizarre and playful „noise-orchestra“ in the tradition of italian futurism." - Source: http://www.schallfeldensemble.com/pro... For further informations about the Schallfeld Ensemble visit their site http://www.schallfeldensemble.com As I have my working space in the Schaumbad I got visually attracted by the installation of the "living machines" of the ensemble's "living machines"...- so I asked them, if I could try to capture their performance in an experimental way. I barely had a concept, I missed the final rehearsal also... and didn't know, what is going to happen. So I let it happen. - I got the audiorecordings and found my own access to this wonderful composed and performed work... - It's a tribute to the System Naturae in a "noir" way. Thanks to the whole Schallfeld Ensemble and their trustfulness!
