While many of these books are straight up kids books, if you look up reviews you'll see lots of adults are reading some of them and that they can be plenty interesting. You can also find regular books just republished under the label as a furigana included version, so it's worth checking to see if the book you're looking for has a furigana version by one of these publishing companies.
