SECOND BLOW TO KYAGULANYI: Supreme court again rejects request for new evidence

The Supreme Court has rejected National Unity Platform Party President, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu's application to bring fresh evidence of 200 witnesses in form of affidavits to strengthen his petition challenging President Yoweri Museveni's re-election. In a majority decision of 8:1 Justices, including the Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny Dollo, the Court rejected the request but did not give reasons, promising to give the details later. This is the second time Kyagulanyi loses a bid to present more evidence before the court. Justice Percy Night Tuhaise read the Court ruling in which Justice Dr. Esther Kisakye dissented.
