Song Story: Calling Me Home, the first single I'm releasing in 2025, is a song that I've been singing for the past few months. Most of you won't know this, but I am married to a music producer, and we have a beautiful home studio where he produces records for different artists in the UK, so my house is usually busy with music and music people. But there was this rare Saturday when the house was completely empty. Jacob (my husband) was travelling, and I had the studio all to myself. I sat down with a guitar and started playing the intro line that inspired this whole song. As I began to simultaneously write, produce, and track the song that day, I realised I was feeling homesick. For some reason, the effects I was playing with, the bass line, and other instrumental elements were reminding me of Brazilian songs I used to listen to when I was young.
