My Dell XPS 8930 Special Edition was quietly shutting down and restarting, and with high end video projects, Premiere Pro was also shutting down without warning. When I ordered my XPS 8930 a graphics card upgrade was an option, so I added it - NVIDEA GeForce GTX 1080 (Dell installed it as part of the build). While trying to problem solve regarding the spontaneous shutdowns, I learned that the GTX 1080 has a minimum power requirement of 500 watts. I also learned that the Dell XPS 8930 only included a 460 watt power supply unit. Not really a problem unless you're working on larger, more complex projects... which I do these days.
