The Four Stones

The Four Stones This was the first megalithic site I ever visited way back in 2000, until then I was oblivious to such sites and it all started on a misty winters morning, whilst flicking through a newly acquired book “ Atlas of magical Britain” I came to a small description about the stones, no pictures included so I didn’t even know what to expect. The description in the book mentioned a legend of the stones being the graves of four Welsh Kings killed there at a ferocious battle, there’s nothing like a good legend to stir the imagination so after consulting my trusty readers digest road atlas, and following the sparse directions in the book we set off, unbeknown to me it was a journey which would literally change my life forever. We came across the turning off the A44 and turned into a narrow single tracked lane, steadily we trundled along our eyes peeled trying to see if we could spot anything through the encroaching hedges, then all of a sudden the hedge turned to a low fence and what befell my sight caused me to instantly jam on the brakes as we stared in wonderment, I can’t remember what we were expecting but there, next to the fence was a sight to behold, we parked up at the gate to the field a bit further along but we didn’t enter the field itself, luckily I had a small camera in the car we had used the previous day on our first visit to the Elan valley dams, unfortunately as it turned out there was literally only one shot left on the film, so my partner took a pic of me standing against the outside of the fence near the stones, ( I have included the picture ) That is where it started for me, from that point finding these sites became an instant obsession which led to a passion, the flame that ignited that cold misty morning instantly became a raging inferno. Fast forward 25 years, the 16th of August 2025 to be exact and the site gave me the same excited rush that it gave me all them years ago. I tried at the cottages nearby to get permission to enter the field but to no avail, so we entered anyway making sure as always to be respectful of the land, closing gates securely and sticking close to the fence line upon approach as not to harm any land. The site has an extremely compelling ambience about it, I imagine it would have been strikingly beautiful within the ancient landscape, at that time probably sat upon an open plain, or even within the embrace of an ancient Forrest, whichever was the case, due to the size of the stones themselves I’m sure would suggest considerable manpower needed upon its construction. My pendulum readings also suggests perfect placement in the landscape to harness the origin Earth energy, my readings also detected what appeared to be lines of energy linking stones in the form of a cross passing through the centre of the monument, each individual stone gave a reasonably intense reading which also suggests it is very much awake. To me personally this site will always hold a place in my heart being my first encounter with these incredible monuments, an encounter that has led me to this point and an ever growing fascination and understanding of what I believe their purpose was and still is, these megaliths are a physical link to our ancestral past, they have survived millennia, ancient origin grid frequency pulses through them especially in multiple formations like this particular monument. The clarity of mind I feel at these sites is a form of mental pain relief I can’t even begin to describe, all the noise, all the distortion settles and ultimately dissipates. I believe the true magic held within the stones lies also in the ability of the visitor to accept, embrace and absorb the pure ancient energy and frequency they emit.
