Upon its release for the Dreamcast in 1999, TrickStyle was one of the best-looking games on the market. It was smooth, stylish and fun. So why don't we talk about it anymore? TrickStyle - Dreamcast / PC (1999) ★ TABLE OF CONTENTS ★ • 0:00 Introduction • 1:16 Release details • 2:13 Gameplay • 4:23 Presentation • 6:15 Reception • 7:39 Tony Hawk's Pro Skater • 9:03 How to play today • 10:05 Conclusion • 11:22 Credits TrickStyle was an early release for the Sega Dreamcast, helping to both bolster its early library as well as show off the power under the hood of the console. It was developed by Criterion, who would go on to become synonymous with legendary racing games like Burnout and Need for Speed. The presentation of the game was very Y2K inspired with coloured lighting, chromed cityscapes and a pumping electronic soundtrack by Kurtis Mantronik. It was a relatively thin title, as per most launch games, but it had style to spare and seemed to be a great foundation for an ongoing series of futuristic racing games. Unfortunately, the release of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater in the same period stole much of TrickStyle's thunder - no official sequel ever came to market. The game is still worth a playthrough though, whether in its original Dreamcast incarnation or one of the more recent PC rereleases on Steam or GOG. 🔴 ** RECOMMENDED VIDEOS ** 🎥 Dreamcast Enjoyer, 'Trickstyle is a time capsule back to 1999': • Trickstyle is a time capsule back to 1999 🎥 SteadySphere - Pixel Empire Video Reviews, 'TrickStyle (DC) - Review': • TrickStyle (DC) - Review 🔴 ** WEBSITE REFERENCES ** 🌐 The Dreamcast Junkyard, 'A Dreamcast Launch Retrospectacle: Celebrating/Ranking the Games of 9.9.99': https://www.thedreamcastjunkyard.co.u...
