🪳How to Spot and Get Rid of THRIPS🪳 Thrips are very small insects and are sometimes hard to spot. They have an elongated shape and range from either tan, yellowish, dark brown or like these ones, black. They feed on the leaves by scrapping them and sucking out the sap and nutrients, leaving behind silvery spots. They also damage new leaves as they are forming, causing them to be distorted as they grow. In addition to damage from feeding they are also disease carriers and one of the most common vectors for many plant viruses. ✨TREATMENT✨ Using an insecticidal soap, I spray the whole plant down, including the stems and the soil. Using your hands or a damp cloth, wipe off the leaves and the stems thoroughly, making sure all the visible thrips have been removed.
