Japanese House of Representatives Member Furuya Keiji on Wednesday sat with Legislative Yuan Speaker You Si-kun. Furuya is currently leading a delegation in Taiwan that on Tuesday met with President Tsai Ing-wen. In his remarks at the Legislative Yuan, Representative Furuya quoted, in Taiwanese Hokkien, the words of the late Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo: “A Taiwan emergency is a Japanese emergency.” Let’s hear from him. Diet Members’ Consultative Council, chaired by Representative Furuya of the Liberal Democratic Party, is the largest parliamentarian Taiwan friendship group in Japan.
