🇩🇴 Viva Miches by Wyndham, Miches Honest Review Here is my breakdown of our stay at this resort. At the time of our visit, the hotel was only a year old, which is a big plus. The Room & Service The rooms were fine—clean by local standards—and the air conditioning worked perfectly. Service was decent, though it’s worth noting that waiters tend to prioritize local guests who speak Spanish. English is not widely spoken, so be prepared for a bit of a language barrier. Food & Drinks 🍹 • The Buffet: Massive selection. In my opinion, it was almost too much! • A La Carte: There are 4 specialty restaurants. They are all okay, but the best part is that you can always head to the buffet afterward if you're still hungry. • Drinks: The quality is relatively good. They don't serve the "bottom-shelf" cheap rum to regular guests, which is a plus. Members do get premium labels, but the standard selection is fair. • Highlight: They make fresh-pressed fruit juices everywhere—definitely a big win! Fitness & Entertainment 🏋️‍♂️ The gym is well-equipped, and there is a professional fitness trainer on-site who is excellent. As for the nightly entertainment, the shows are good, but they start quite late (9:30 PM) and last until about 11 PM. This can be tricky if you are traveling with kids, but we managed to adapt. The Water (The Biggest Downside) 🌊 The biggest disappointment was the ocean. Unlike the crystal-clear turquoise water you might expect, the water here was murky. Visibility was less than 20–30 cm, which was a problem for us since we were there with a child. The water was calm because it's a bay, but it wasn't clear. Some say it's because of a nearby river mixing with the sea, while others claim it's the meeting point of the Atlantic and the Caribbean. Just a reminder: Miches is on the Atlantic side, not the Caribbean Sea. Final Verdict Overall, it was a good stay considering the price point. You get a lot of variety and modern facilities for your money.
