YO YO TRAM! What is the Yarra Trams Melbourne YO YO? Melbourne Tram Route 5 to Malvern.

Welcome to Schony747 trams on Saturday. This night presentation was filmed completely on my Samsung S20 mobile phone using 4K at 59 frames per second. Any comments and feedback is welcome. Today the channel features the Yarra Trams Melbourne Yo Yo. What is the Yo Yo? It's a service that runs after 7pm every night running between Orrong and Dandenong Roads through to the Malvern Route 5 Terminus at Wattletree and Burke Roads Malvern East. Like a Yo Yo, the tram travels up and down between the two locations and provides a timetabled connection to Tram Route 64 trams for passengers travelling to and from the City. During the day, route 5 trams also run along Dandenong Road to and from the Melbourne University Tram Terminus. The service is run by Malvern Tram Depot. It's the last of it's type still running across the Melbourne Tram network. Other examples included the hump shuttle near Preston Workshops which would provide connections with the 11 and 88 and The Tango which used to operate at night near Brunswick Depot for the 1 and the 15 similar to the Yo Yo. The video will drive you through how the Yo Yo operates and take on a night time ride between Orrong Road and The Malvern Tram Terminus. The driver view was filmed from the passenger saloon.
