A Classic Mini Lure for Competition Anglers where strict fly sizes are called for and also Winter fishing where large lures may not be appropriate. This fly is mainly used for Rainbow Trout on stocked fisheries and reservoirs. In this video I have tried to stay true to the original, however it is buried amongst hundreds of variants. It was difficult for me to determine the original wing material, but I have used Black Marabou in this example. The body is 100% accurate to the original, however I prefer to tie it with a Black Dubbing and a finer Holographic Tinsel. The tail can be tied using a Chartreuse Marabou. A Lime Green tail can also be effective. The colour combination in this fly is extremely effective for Rainbow Trout and can be transferred to other patterns. Its also the same colour combination as the deadly Montana Nymph. Fish on Floating, Intermediate or Sinking lines and vary your retrieve. A slow retrieve is effective with this pattern.
