Feb 10, 2026 Join the ATS PBTS Working Group, Larissa Shimoda, PhD, Editor-in-Chief, AJP–Lung Cellular and Molecular Physiology, and Andrew Halayko, PhD, Editor-in-Chief, American Journal of Respiratory Cell and Molecular Biology, for a practical, behind-the-scenes look at how journals work to promote early career scientists to become involved as future leaders. This webinar will highlight early career editorial board and apprenticeship opportunities, how to become and remain a strong reviewer, and effective strategies for engaging with editors. Panelists will also touch on current topics in publishing, including recruitment of and recognition of reviewers, reviewer interactions with editors (approaches to handling problematic reviews or data concerns), editor responsibilities (editorial rejection and evaluation of reviews as appropriate and fair). The webinar will be aimed at early-career investigators building an editorial and peer review portfolio as part of their academic trajectory as future leaders in our field.
