Feb 2018. This video shows the difference between the Foley and regular self catheter and shows how the bulb works to keep the Foley in the bladder. After my TURB for bladder several bladder tumors I needed to wait and then begin chemo treatment. However when I showed up for the chemo I had such a large amount of scar tissue growth at the bladder neck that even a catheter could not have been inserted. So instead they performed immediate surgery by stretching the bladder opening with various stretching tools. See the previous video for this procedure. I spent a couple of weeks self cathetering to keep the opening large enough to void and then went in for proper surgery. After the surgery I had a #20 Foley inserted which was to keep the bladder opening from growing closed. Now after a week wearing the bag it is removed and I am to keep self catheterizing until the chemo is over and I have also had another cystoscopy with my doctor. That will be nearly two months from now.
