They are determined to safeguard the school's reputation and feel compelled to expel the student responsible for this incident. Attendees include ten affluent parents from Pacific Palisades, CA, and Eddie, an outsider whose daughter recently won a scholarship to attend the school. As the meeting unfolds, tensions rise, and there is a heated exchange of opinions among the parents. Eventually, the principal and drama teacher decide to leave the room, trusting Eddie to find a resolution within the next hour and save the day. This leads to a flurry of accusations, intrigue, and insults, as each parent seeks to shield their own child from any potential repercussions. In an attempt to defuse the hostility and think more rationally, one parent suggests trying a small amount of the suspicious substance themselves. This leads to the revelation of fragile and obscure secrets, causing perspectives to shift dramatically. The supposed weed problem turns out to be an exercise in hypocrisy, and amidst the chaos, heartfelt truths are shared, fostering camaraderie among the parents.
