Researchers at OIST, led by Lokesh Agrawal, have developed a novel hybrid fabrication technology that could transform neural tissue regeneration. By combining 3D-bioprinting with electrospinning, the team can create personalized, 3D-fibrous scaffolds tailored to fit specific injury sites. These scaffolds, made from a new biomaterial, offer a promising structure for neural grafts based on stem cells, supporting nerve regeneration in ways previous methods cannot. This cutting-edge technology offers a faster, more cost-effective solution for spinal cord and nerve injuries. Backed by OIST’s Proof of Concept Program, the team plans to commercialize it through their startup, "SND Regenic." #SpinalCordInjury, #NeuralTissueEngineering, #Electrospinning, #3D-bioprinting Speaker: Dr. Lokesh Agrawal, Neural Circuit Unit The OIST Proof of Concept (POC) program is a competitive funding initiative designed to bridge the gap between laboratory discoveries and commercialization.
