Had some comments on other Sonor Safari vids I posted about the sound of the kick being boomy. I updated the tuning and the front kick head sense those videos had posted so here is the latest audio sample. I purposely only used my Hero 4's audio mic to try and give you an example of what its sounds like as if you are in the room, live. I use this kit at about half of the live gigs I do on tour for its small footprint and really good tone. I couldn't be happier with the outcome for a sub-$400.00 drum set. Note: I'm not using the snare drum that came with the kit in this video, I'm using a Ludwig Black Beauty instead. The kick batter is a Aquarian Super Kick II, the Reso is a standard 16" Remo Fiberskyn 3, (yes you can use regular heads, not kick heads only) Reso's on the toms are the Sonor/Remo heads that came with the kit, and I'm using Remo Pinstripes on the batters of the toms. Shot with a Gopro Hero 4 on 4k/30fps then exported it as 1080p to keep the file size down for youtube. The camera is about 3 feet away. Thanks for checking out the video, leave questions or comments if you wish. Peace.
