Pandan Huat Kueh is a traditional and absolutely AMAZING Malaysian dessert consisting normally of just flour, water, sugar and a leavener. There are obviously many many many versions of this. Since this dessert is technically vegetarian, it was served in Buddhist and Taoist temples as an offering and also to ancestors. The signature cracked opening of each cake symbolizes joy, prosperity, and visually resembles a flower that is full of hopes and looking forward to a brighter future. The name directly translates to "Pandan Risen Cake". Ingredients: 1 cup flour 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup coconut milk 1 egg 1/4 tsp ENO (if you don't have ENO, add 1/4 tbsp baking powder) 1/2 tbsp baking powder 1 tbsp hot water 1/4 tsp Pandan Essence (if you don't have Pandan Essence, you can use any other kind of flavour.. or use real Pandan if you're legit) I forgot to mention in the video that you can buy Pandan Essence from any Asian supermarket. Thanks for watching! Make sure to hit that thumbs up if it was helpful or if you enjoyed it! FORKS DOWN.
