Join us on an incredible 8km adventure through the stunning valleys of Bradford Dale and Lathkill Dale in the Peak District. Starting in the beautiful village of Youlgreave, we followed the River Lathkill upstream in search of its mysterious source, passing hidden caves, disused mineshafts, and some of the clearest blue water we’ve ever seen. This area is packed with history, wildlife, and unreal scenery, easily one of the most underrated walks in the Peak District. After reaching the upper valley, we looped back along the River Bradford towards Youlgreave, where we discovered a famous wild swimming spot… and somehow convinced Dave to get in. He didn’t quite go for the full plunge, but credit where it’s due, he made it in up to his thighs in freezing water. If you’re looking for an adventurous circular walk with river views, caves, and wild swim locations, this route is definitely worth adding to your list. 📍 Route Details • Distance: ~8km • Time: Around 5 hours with exploring • Start/Finish: Youlgreave • Highlights: River Lathkill source, caves, mineshafts, Bradford Dale wild swim More Peak District adventures, Hiking, Wild Camping and chaos with Dave coming soon .
