Ventricular septal rupture occurs due to the full thickness infarction of the interventricular septum followed by sufficient necrosis to result in the septal rupture. It is one of the three mechanical complications that can occur following myocardial infarction. Post-infarction ventricular septum rupture (VSR) is a potentially lethal mechanical complication of an acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Indian data on percutaneous device closure is scarce hence they report in single-centre experience with ASD occluder device for closure of post- acute myocardial infarction ventricular septum rupture. The Study is published in Indian Heart Journal. In the single-centre, retrospective, cohort study, patients who underwent transcatheter closure of post- myocardial infarction ventricular septum rupture were included. Primary outcome was mortality rate at 30 days.
