Military Service and Lifelong Purpose: Texas A&M's VRSC Equips Veteran and Military Aggies to Thrive

After seven deployments and more than a decade of service as an Army Special Forces Green Beret, Chris Thompson returned to Texas A&M for the final time in 2020, not as a reservist fresh out of high school, but as a veteran with a mission to finish what he started. With the support of the Don & Ellie Knauss Veteran Resource & Support Center (VRSC), Chris found the community, guidance, and encouragement he needed to cross the graduation stage. The VRSC is where veteran and military Aggies can find their footing at Texas A&M — offering everything from Military Admissions counseling and benefits advising to peer mentorship and wellbeing support.
