On Ticker I chatted to Ahron Young about unprofessional social media behaviour and how it can negatively impact businesses, employees and job-seekers. My key points of advice are: 🔺Employers and Job-Seekers: Don't rely on privacy settings. Screen shots of posts and messages can be shared with anyone including current and prospective employers. 🔺Business-Owners: Ensure you have a social media policy that can be clearly communicated to employees and other stakeholders (see the Salvation Army Australia example below) AND regular training about what is acceptable and unacceptable social media behaviour. The research mentioned in the segment was conducted at the USC: University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia and funded by the Centre for Support and Advancement of Learning and Teaching (C-SALT).
