This is my mid-1970s Zenith Nomad II portable record player which features a BSR C-129R turntable equipped with the Micro-Touch 2G tonearm and cartridge, a ceramic cartridge which is mounted on a hinge and uses a spring as a shock absorber. Probably one of the best ceramic cartridges ever made, which puts all others (minus the Sonotone 9T) to shame. As the name implies, the Micro-Touch 2G cartridge is designed to track at 2 grams but can also track with as little as 1g or as high as 3g This demonstrates what a well-engineered ceramic cartridge is capable of, something the folks at Crosley and Victrola are incapable of doing, let alone match the impedance for the sub-par quality ceramic cartridges they use.
